Mrs. Peggy Mulongo (Chair) is one of the founders of NESTAC; she has
worked with refugees and asylum seekers since 2001, and has worked in both
case work and community development.
She has about 10 years of community
development, and helped to start various projects for NESTAC. Mrs Peggy
Mulongo works in regeneration and provides support to start-up social
enterprises and co-operatives, especially within the BME community. She
is an active member of the Co-operatives UK Ethnic Diversity Steering
Group.
Mrs Mulongo is employed by Rochdale Council to provide support and
assistance to Asylum Seekers and refugees under the Asylum Support Team.
She is a Freelance Interpreter (DPSI in interpreting and translation),
member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
She is a qualified Mental Health Nurse (Advanced DipHE at the Salford
University), with a special interest in BME mental health initiatives.
